Determinants of Within-Gender Inequality in the US :
We study the evolution of within-women income inequality in the US, from 1980 to 2023, in a comparative analysis with within-men inequality. We aim to identify the channels through which this inequality evolves, as well as explain the differences in the dynamics for women and men. We specifically assess the roles of the glass ceiling and of women's labor force attachment and hours constraints.
Migration and Structural Change in Latin America, with Wilma Ticona-Huanca :
We investigate how both forced migrations and subsequent voluntary migration flows to Latin America during the 19th and 20th centuries shaped the region’s structural change, particularly through the reallocation of labor across sectors. We aim to quantify the long-run economic impact of these migration waves, assessing their role in productivity dynamics, human capital formation, and the evolution of agricultural and industrial structures.
