Welcome to NoteVault (“NoteVault,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). NoteVault is a note-taking application that allows you to create, organize, protect, record, scan, import, export, and manage your notes.
This Privacy Policy explains how NoteVault handles information when you use our application and the choices available to you regarding your information.
By using NoteVault, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
NoteVault is designed to allow you to create and manage personal content. Depending on the features you use, the application may handle the following information:
This may include:
Notes and text you create.
Lists and checklist items.
Folders and categories.
Tags.
Note titles and other organizational information.
Reminders you create.
Images or documents you add to notes.
Information contained in imported notes.
If you use the audio recording feature, NoteVault may access your device's microphone to record audio.
Audio recordings are handled according to where and how you choose to store or export them. NoteVault does not access your microphone unless you use a feature that requires microphone access.
If you use the document scanning or text-recognition feature, NoteVault may access your device camera or selected images/documents, depending on the feature and your device permissions.
Scanned content may be processed to convert images of documents into text.
Depending on the features you use, NoteVault may request access to:
Camera: to scan documents.
Microphone: to record audio.
Photos/Media/Files: to select, import, save, or export content.
Notifications: to send reminders and other notifications.
You can manage these permissions through your device settings. Some NoteVault features may not work if the required permission is denied.
Information handled by NoteVault may be used to provide and operate the application's features, including:
Creating and editing notes.
Organizing notes into folders.
Creating lists and checklists.
Applying tags.
Setting and delivering reminders.
Locking individual notes.
Providing application-lock functionality.
Recording audio.
Scanning documents and extracting text.
Importing and exporting notes.
Generating PDF files.
Saving content to locations selected by you.
Maintaining light and dark mode preferences.
Protecting the security and functionality of the application.
Diagnosing and fixing technical problems, where applicable.
We do not use the content of your notes for advertising purposes.
NoteVault may provide features that allow you to protect individual notes or the application with a passcode, PIN, biometric authentication, or another security mechanism supported by your device.
These features are intended to help prevent unauthorized access to your notes.
Important: App Lock and Note Lock should not be considered a guarantee of absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device, passwords, PINs, and authentication methods secure.
Where supported by your device, authentication may be performed using the device's built-in security mechanisms. NoteVault does not receive or store your fingerprint or face-recognition data.
If you create a reminder, NoteVault may schedule a local notification on your device.
Reminder information may be stored locally on your device and used solely to deliver the reminder you requested.
You can disable notifications through your device settings. Disabling notifications may prevent NoteVault from delivering reminders.
When you use the document-scanning feature, NoteVault may request access to your camera or photos/files.
The resulting scanned image and extracted text may become part of your note.
Where processing can be performed directly on your device, we aim to process the content locally rather than transmitting it to our servers.
If a particular version of NoteVault uses a third-party or cloud-based text-recognition service, the relevant information will be disclosed in the applicable version of this Privacy Policy.
When you use the recording feature, NoteVault requires microphone access.
Recordings are created only when you initiate the recording feature.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the recording feature complies with applicable laws. In some jurisdictions, recording another person may require their consent.
NoteVault allows you to import and export notes and other content.
When you export notes, including exporting notes as PDF files, the resulting files may be saved to a location you select, such as your device storage or another application.
Once you export or share a file outside NoteVault, that file is subject to the privacy and security practices of the destination you choose.
Similarly, when you import content from another application or location, NoteVault may access the content you specifically select for import.
Depending on the version and configuration of NoteVault, your notes and related information may be stored locally on your device.
If your information is stored locally, we generally do not have access to the contents of that information.
Deleting the NoteVault application or clearing its application data may result in the loss of locally stored notes and other information unless you have previously exported or backed up that content.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of important information.
We do not sell your personal information or your note content.
We do not share the contents of your notes with third parties for advertising purposes.
Information may be disclosed in limited circumstances, such as:
When you specifically choose to export, share, or send content to another application or service.
When necessary to provide a feature through a third-party service.
When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
When necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of NoteVault, our users, or others.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
NoteVault does not use third-party services to collect, process, analyze, store, or share your personal information or note content.
Your notes, lists, folders, tags, reminders, scanned documents, audio recordings, and other content created within NoteVault are not shared with third-party service providers for their own purposes.
NoteVault may interact with other applications or services only when you explicitly choose to export, import, share, or open content using features provided by your device or other applications. Any information you choose to share in this way will be subject to the privacy policy and practices of the third-party application or service you select.
