Notes: Notepad & to-do lists

Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 30, 2024
Notes Notebook Notepad ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Notes: Notepad & to-do lists (the "App"). This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our App. By using our app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the App's functionality:

  • Collected Data: The App allows you to manage notes and files to view. All notes related data, including pdfs, file path, notes, type, metadata, and other related details, are stored locally on your device and not shared with third parties.

  • App Usage Data: We may collect anonymized app usage data, such as which features are used and how often, to improve the App. This data is collected through third-party services like Firebase Analytics and does not personally identify you.

  • Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access the App, such as hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers. This data helps improve the performance and compatibility of the App.

2. Data Storage and Security

All data related to The App is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store this data on external servers. Any analytics data collected through third-party services (e.g., Firebase) is anonymized.

We employ appropriate security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption and regular security audits. However, no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

3. Payment Terms

  • In-App Purchases: No In-App Purchases have been added to the App as of now, but we may add it in future.

4. Cookies

The App itself does not use cookies, but third-party services like Google AdMob or Firebase Analytics may use cookies to collect anonymized information. You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings.

5. Third-Party Services

Technologies and Libraries Used in the App

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob (com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads) to display ads in the app. AdMob may collect data like device identifiers, usage data, and location (if you allow it). You can manage your ad preferences anytime through your device settings.

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous app usage data, such as feature engagement and crash reports. This helps us improve the app's performance and user experience. Firebase does not collect any data that can personally identify you.

RoomDB

We use RoomDB (androidx.room:room) to store and manage your data locally on your device. Your data stays private and is never transmitted to third parties.

SDP & SSP

We use SDP (com.intuit.sdp:sdp-android) and SSP (com.intuit.ssp:ssp-android) to create responsive and flexible layouts that adapt perfectly to different screen sizes and resolutions.

Glide

We use Glide (com.github.bumptech.glide:glide) to load and display images or media efficiently within the app. Glide ensures smooth performance while handling image-related tasks.

EventBus

We use EventBus (org.greenrobot:eventbus) for efficient communication between different parts of the app. It helps send events and data seamlessly within the app.

BaseRecyclerViewAdapterHelper

We use BaseRecyclerViewAdapterHelper (io.github.cymchad:BaseRecyclerViewAdapterHelper) to simplify the setup of RecyclerView adapters. This library provides features like animations, sectioned lists, and quick data updates, making app development faster and more efficient.

Lottie

We use Lottie (com.airbnb.android:lottie) to add high-quality animations to the app. Lottie allows us to use lightweight, scalable animations that enhance the user experience.

Multidex

We use Multidex (androidx.multidex:multidex) to ensure the app can handle more than 65,536 methods, a limit in Android's DEX format. This helps us support a larger app with many features and dependencies without any issues.

RoundedImageView

We use RoundedImageView (com.makeramen:roundedimageview) to display images with rounded corners, making the app’s UI more visually appealing.

Lifecycle Components

We use Android Lifecycle Components to manage the app’s UI lifecycle efficiently. This minimizes memory leaks and ensures proper resource management.

Gson

We use Gson (com.google.code.gson:gson) to convert Java objects to JSON and vice versa, simplifying data handling in the app.

Google Sign-In and Google Drive Integration

  • Google HTTP Client with Gson helps us handle HTTP requests and parse API responses.

  • Google API Client for Android facilitates communication with Google services.

  • Google Drive API (v3) lets you upload, download, and manage files on Google Drive.

  • Google Play Services Auth integrates Google Sign-In, allowing users to authenticate and access Google Drive files.

  • To avoid library conflicts, we include a placeholder implementation of ListenableFuture.

In-App Purchases

We use IAP (com.github.akshaaatt:Google-IAP) and BillingClient (com.android.billingclient:billing) to manage in-app purchases securely and efficiently.

Dexter (Permission Handling)

We use Dexter (com.karumi:dexter) to handle permissions in a simple and user-friendly way. It ensures permissions are requested and managed smoothly during app use.

Retrofit

We use Retrofit (com.squareup.retrofit2) to handle network requests and API interactions. It simplifies making HTTP requests and converting responses into Java objects.

String Obfuscation

We use Paranoid (io.michaelrocks.paranoid) to secure and obfuscate sensitive strings in the app, enhancing security and protecting app data.
