Welcome to Notes - Notepad & Lists, a simple notes app by Eretmochelys Imbricata to help you write notes, create lists, add images, and organize your ideas easily on your Android device.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your privacy. We do not collect any personal data from you. No accounts, no sign-ins, no data leaves your device. All your notes, lists, and images stay stored locally on your phone. Read on for full details.
This policy applies to our app Notes - Notepad & Lists (the "App"). We built it for adults to jot down ideas privately.
We respect your privacy. The App runs mostly offline. Any online features (like optional backups or notifications) use minimal, anonymized data handled by trusted partners. This policy covers Google Play Data Safety rules, GDPR (for EU users), CCPA/CPRA (for California users), and CalOPPA.

We do not collect any personal information. You don't need to create an account or share details like your name, email, or phone number.
All your notes, lists, images, and organized ideas are saved locally on your device only. Data recovery happens right on your phone—no upload to us or anyone else.
For app improvement, we use anonymized analytics (no personal identifiers). No sensitive data like health or location is gathered.
Under GDPR, we process minimal data only when needed:
Consent: For optional features like notifications.
Legitimate interests: Anonymized analytics to fix bugs and improve the app (balanced against your rights).
No contract or legal obligation applies, as we collect nothing personal.
EU users can withdraw consent anytime via device settings.
We ask for permissions only for key features. You control them in your device settings (Settings > Apps > Notes - Notepad & Lists > Permissions). Here's each one, why it's needed, and how it's used minimally and locally:
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): On Android 13+, this lets us show reminders or alarms for your lists and scheduled notes. We don't track or send your notification content anywhere—it's all device-local. Manage in Settings > Notifications.
Internet (INTERNET): Used sparingly for optional online features like fetching backup files from your cloud (if you choose), syncing alarms, or downloading tones. No personal data is sent; connections are secure and anonymized. No background data collection.
Camera (CAMERA): Allows you to snap photos directly in the app to attach images to notes or lists. Photos save locally—no upload or sharing without your action. Revoke anytime; the app works fine without it for text notes.

Everything stays local. Your notes, lists, and images are stored in your device's secure storage using Room database (encrypted by Android).
We use best practices like Hilt for safe code injection and coroutines for smooth, secure operations. No cloud sync unless you manually back up to your own storage.
We do not share any of your personal data with third-party companies, services, or individuals. Since data never leaves your device, risks are minimal.

Ads: Yes, we show ads from AdMob, AdX, and Facebook (Meta) to keep the app free. Ads are anonymized—no personal data shared. See their policies:
Analytics: Yes, Firebase for crash reports and usage stats (anonymized, no IDs). Helps fix bugs.
No tracking across apps or devices.
No cookies, as this is an Android app. Local storage uses device files only (e.g., SharedPreferences for settings)—cleared on uninstall.
We process zero personal data. Local notes are not "personal data" under GDPR as we never access them. Firebase analytics is aggregated (e.g., "X users tapped save"). No profiling.
Data lives only on your device. Uninstall the App to delete everything instantly. No servers hold backups.
Yes, we offer in-app purchases and subscriptions via Google Play Billing for premium features (e.g., ad-free, extra storage).
All payments are handled safely by Google Play. We do not collect, store, or see your payment details like cards or passwords.
Subscriptions: Renew automatically unless canceled before billing. Manage/cancel anytime in Google Play > Account > Subscriptions. Premium access continues until period ends.
Purchase Information: Google shares limited, non-personal info (e.g., subscription status) to unlock features.
Refunds & Cancellations: Request via Google Play per their rules.
Third-Party Sharing: None, except Google for verification.
