Privacy Policy for Noteora

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Noteora Android application ("Noteora," the "Application," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use it. Noteora is a local-first notes application that may display advertising. It does not require a Noteora account and does not upload your note content to a developer-operated notes server.
2. Information you create or provide
Depending on the features you use, Noteora may process:
- note titles, note text, checklist items, labels, and organizational status;
- drawings, formatting, colors, and other note presentation choices;
- images, audio recordings, and other files that you intentionally add;
- reminder dates, times, and completion status;
- application preferences and personalization settings; and
- text, images, files, or other content that you intentionally share or import into Noteora from another application.
This content is stored primarily in Noteora's private storage on your device. Khalid Mustafa Tech does not operate a Noteora account system or a server that receives and stores your notes or attachments.
3. Device permissions and access
Noteora may request or use the following device capabilities:
- Microphone: only when you choose to record audio in a note.
- Notifications: to show reminders that you create.
- Alarms and reminders: to schedule user-created reminders. If exact-alarm access is unavailable, Android may deliver a reminder less precisely.
- Photos, media, and files: only for items that you choose through an Android picker, share into Noteora, or otherwise intentionally add.
- Camera application: when you choose to capture an image, Noteora may open a camera application on your device.
- Internet and network state: for Google Mobile Ads, consent and privacy messaging, crash reporting and app diagnostics, Google Play update and rating prompts, and limited Google SDK operations described below.
You can review or change permissions in Android Settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working. Noteora does not request or collect GPS or other precise location data. Google Mobile Ads may infer an approximate location from an Internet Protocol (IP) address as described in Section 6.
4. How information is used
Information is processed as needed to:
- create, save, organize, search, display, and edit your notes;
- attach and play media, create drawings, and apply your chosen preferences;
- schedule and deliver reminders;
- recognize text from an image when you deliberately use that feature;
- share content when you initiate an Android sharing action;
- obtain legally required advertising consent choices;
- display, measure, and protect advertising when advertising is enabled;
- detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and performance problems; and
- maintain application reliability, compatibility, security, and fraud prevention.
5. On-device text recognition and no generative AI
The Google Play version of Noteora may use Google ML Kit Text Recognition when you choose to extract text from an image. The selected image and recognized text are processed on your device and are not sent by Noteora to Khalid Mustafa Tech or to Google for the text-recognition operation. The ML Kit SDK may nevertheless collect limited technical information, such as device and application information, identifiers, and performance or diagnostic data, and it may contact Google to obtain models, updates, bug fixes, or hardware-compatibility information.
Noteora does not use generative artificial intelligence to process your notes or other personal content. For more information, see:

6. Advertising, Google Mobile Ads, and consent
The Google Play version of Noteora includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. Development and testing builds use Google's official test advertising configuration. Release builds may display consent-controlled banner ads on the home, labels, settings, and about screens; an app-open ad when you return to the app after being away for a while; and, occasionally, a full-screen (interstitial) ad after you close a note and return to your notes list. Ads are never shown while you are writing or editing a note, and full-screen ads are limited in how often they appear. These SDKs may communicate with Google.
Depending on your device, region, settings, consent choices, and whether advertising is enabled, Google Mobile Ads and its advertising partners may automatically collect, receive, or process:
- your IP address and an approximate location inferred from it;
- application and advertising interactions, such as launches, ad impressions, views, or clicks;
- diagnostic, crash, performance, and fraud-prevention information; and
- device or account identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID or app set ID, when available.
Google and its advertising partners may use this information to provide ads, select or personalize ads where permitted, measure advertising and application performance, perform analytics, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain security. Data sent to Google Mobile Ads is encrypted in transit. Noteora does not send your note text, checklists, labels, drawings, images, audio recordings, reminders, or other note attachments to AdMob for advertising.
Where required, UMP may present a consent or privacy message before advertising data is processed. Available choices depend on your region and applicable law. You may also be able to manage advertising settings through Android device settings, My Ad Center (https://myadcenter.google.com/), or a consent message when it is presented. Withdrawing or refusing consent does not necessarily remove all advertising; non-personalized or limited ads may still be shown where permitted.

6A. Crash reports, diagnostics, and analytics (Firebase)
The Google Play version of Noteora includes Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Performance Monitoring, provided by Google. They help us find and fix crashes, understand how the app performs, and see which settings are used. Depending on your device and settings, they may collect:
- crash and error reports, including stack traces, the app version, device model, Android version, and the state of the app when it crashed;
- app usage events, such as app opens, sessions, and changes to app settings (for example, theme or contrast);
- performance data, such as app start time and screen rendering times; and
- a Firebase installation identifier, and your IP address, which Google may use to infer an approximate location.
These tools do not receive your note text, checklists, labels, drawings, images, audio recordings, reminders, or other note attachments. For more information, see:

6B. Google Play updates and ratings
The Google Play version of Noteora uses Google Play's in-app update and in-app review features. The app asks the Google Play Store whether a newer version is available and may offer to download it, and after you have used the app for a while it may show Google's rating prompt. These requests are handled by the Google Play Store app under Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy); any rating or review you choose to leave is published by Google Play, not stored by Noteora.
7. Android backup and device transfer
Depending on your Android version, device manufacturer, Google Account, and backup settings, Android may include eligible Noteora databases, preferences, notes, or attachments in a cloud backup or device-to-device transfer. This process is controlled by Android, your device provider, and your Google Account settings, not by a Noteora server. Backed-up data may be restored when you reinstall the Application or configure another device.

8. User-initiated sharing
Noteora can send content to another application only when you initiate a share, export, camera, picker, or similar Android action. The receiving application or service handles that content under its own privacy policy. Please review the destination before sharing sensitive information.
9. Disclosure of information
Khalid Mustafa Tech does not sell your note content. Note content and attachments remain local except when you intentionally share them or when Android backup or device transfer handles eligible application data. Limited advertising, consent, crash-reporting, analytics, and technical SDK data may be processed by Google and its advertising partners as described above.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent abuse. Because we do not operate a notes server, we ordinarily do not possess your locally stored note content.
10. Data retention and deletion
Notes, preferences, and attachments may remain on your device until you delete them, clear the Application's storage, or uninstall the Application. Deleting an individual note or emptying the trash removes the associated note record, but because of current local attachment-cleanup limitations, some attachment files may remain in private app storage.
To ensure complete removal of all locally stored Noteora data, including any remaining attachment files, clear Noteora's storage in Android Settings or uninstall the Application. Noteora has no online account or developer-hosted notes profile to delete. Android backups are controlled separately and may remain according to your device and Google Account backup settings. Google and its partners retain SDK and advertising data according to their own policies and legal obligations.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. You can:
- manage Noteora permissions and notifications in Android Settings;
- delete notes, clear Noteora's storage, or uninstall the Application;
- manage Android backup and advertising controls through device or Google Account settings;
- respond to a UMP consent or privacy message if one is presented; and
- contact us at khalidmustufaawan@gmail.com with a privacy question or request.
Because your notes are stored locally and we do not operate a Noteora account or notes server, we generally cannot access, retrieve, correct, or remotely delete your note content.
12. Children's privacy
Noteora is a general productivity application intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and Khalid Mustafa Tech does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
13. Security
Noteora uses Android's private application storage and reasonable technical safeguards appropriate to a local-first application. Information sent to Google SDKs is protected in transit. However, no device, storage system, transmission method, or security measure is guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device updated, use a screen lock, and avoid sharing sensitive notes with untrusted applications.
14. International processing
Google and its service providers or advertising partners may process technical and advertising information in countries other than your own. Their processing is governed by their policies and applicable safeguards.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Noteora's features, SDKs, legal requirements, or data practices change. The revised policy will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate method when required by law.
16. Your consent
By using Noteora, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular type of processing, such as personalized advertising, that processing will be based on the choices made through the consent mechanism presented to you.
