Originally designed for a Jeffries type 30 BTN Anglo Concertina, I found this system very logical, and it does conform to some basic rules of Mathematics. I can see no reason why it cannot be used for any Anglo Concertina, no matter how many buttons on it.
LHS = Left Hand Side; RHS = Right Hand Side.
Starting on the LHS inside, or G, row, goes to RHS inside, or G, row, Piano format, increasing numbers on each button increase as does pitch in each key.
Middle, or C, row follows the same system.
Last the outside, or accidental row, is again the same.
Advantages;
With two notes on each button, and five buttons in each row ( defined as 'decades'), the system provides simple easy to use rubrics aiding learning method and tune.
1st Digit.
Even numbered decades all lie on the Left Hand Side, odd numbered decades on the Right Hand Side.
2nd Digit.
Even numbers are press bellows, odd are draw bellows.
The system removes the need for both 'side direction' symbols, and 'bellow direction' symbols in ABC files, and on the staves made from them.
Tabbing Software will be easier to code, faster to process, and therefore greener for PCs and Smart Phones.
Developers welcome to use the system for free tabbing software, but I have no preference on advertising on such pages, IOW go ahead!
Thanks to Concertina.net, its wonderful team and users for the impetus to publish this page.
