There is really only one rule. By participating in these rides you essentially agree that you're part of a group of friends who are exploring some new riding territory. There should be no other expectations.
It's basically a "show up and ride," type of thing. The group will roll out of the parking lot at the pre-determined time and if you are there, you are welcome to join us. If you arrive later you are welcome to try and catch up or do the ride at your own pace, catching on or not.
For the sake of illustration, think about these couple of examples:
The D2R2 (2021 version but actually the early days of the ride) which is described as: "After a year canceled by pandemic, we are returning to our roots by offering a simpler and more self-sufficient event harkening back to the early days of D2R2 when Sandy provided a cue sheet and a cooler of soda in the woods along the route." (Italics added.)
The 200 on 100 which describes itself as: "...somewhere on that continuum [from fully supported tours where a positive experience is guaranteed, to fleches, where only the destination, date, and a few arcane rules are established]... We are not guaranteeing you anything, other than we plan to be at the Canadian border at [the pre-arranged time.]... We are not renting vans, setting up tents, providing food or support,... [etc] There are no fees for this ride, no special insurance policies, no sanctioning by any organization, no prizes and no rules. All we can guarantee is a ride you will talk about for the rest of your life."
All we can add to the above is that if you are not completely satisfied with the NVG3, we'll double your money back.
Every ride is subject to cancellation so keep in touch. We reserve the right to cancel, or reschedule, due to poor riding conditions or lack of interest. Regarding the latter, it will be necessary to indicate the likelihood of your participation by visiting the series' Notchview G3 Facebook page and clicking on the appropriate description of your plans. Emailing the ride organizer is another way to sign up or ask questions. You can reach me at: plussier[at]whitneyacres[dot]com.
