Hyperhidrosis presents itself in different ways for everyone, however, the most common areas of excessive sweating are:
HANDS:
This is known as Palmar Hyperhidrosis. It is common for those living with this condition to experience excessive sweating without reason in the palms of the hands. This can make simple interactions like handshakes stressful.
FEET:
This is known as Plantar Hyperhidrosis. People with this condition experience heavy sweating on the soles of the feet. This can make walking uncomfortable, and increase the risk of blisters and fungal infections.
UNDERARMS:
This is known as Axillary Hyperhidrosis. People who live with the aforementioned condition experience excessive sweating in the armpits. This can make you feel self conscious or insecure, especially in professional or social settings.
OTHER:
Excessive sweat anywhere else? You're not alone. You may still be suffering from hyperhidrosis as heavy sweating anywhere on the body can be a sign of the condition. Many people also suffer from Secondary Hyperhidrosis, which is caused by other underlying medical conditions or medication.
