Universal RISE is the North West's offer for every school and trust. It's about making it easier to connect with high quality support, learn from effective practice and access opportunities that help leaders, teachers and pupils thrive.
Across the North West, we know that some of the best solutions already exist within our schools and communities. From Manchester to Merseyside, Cheshire to Cumbria, Lancashire to Westmorland & Furness, Universal RISE brings together schools, trusts, local authorities and partners to share expertise, build networks and strengthen the sector together.
Grounded in evidence informed practice and shaped by the realities of our region, Universal RISE reflects both what we have in common and what makes our local places unique. Whether you're based in a city centre, a coastal town or a rural community, the aim is the same: to help schools access the knowledge, support and connections that drive continuous improvement.
By building on the talent, experience and innovation that already exists across the North West, we can create a stronger, more connected education system where improvement is owned by the region and benefits every child and young person.
We encourage all schools, trusts and partners to get involved, share their expertise and play a part in shaping the future of education across the North West.
Targeted RISE is a bespoke improvement offer for schools that meet a nationally determined eligibility criteria. Eligibility is based on data and inspection outcomes, providing a clear and consistent approach to identifying schools that may benefit from additional support.
Once eligibility has been confirmed, our North West team will make direct contact with school leaders to discuss the support available. Working alongside experienced system leaders, education specialists and trusted partners, schools will have access to tailored, evidence informed support designed around their specific context and priorities.
Support may include diagnostic reviews, leadership development, school to school support and targeted improvement activity, all with the aim of building capacity, strengthening practice and securing sustainable improvement.
The North West has a proud track record of schools supporting schools, and Targeted RISE builds on that strength by ensuring eligible schools can access the right expertise, at the right time.
If your school is eligible, a member of the regional team will be in touch to talk through the offer, answer any questions and help you access the support available through theTargeted RISE programme.
