Welcome! Northview High School's Science Olympiad team is a state-ranked competitive division C team, boasting a record as 5th in the state for Science Olympiad for the last two years! Our community of 50+ students along with our leadership team and sponsor have worked with this club to make it an opportunity for all students to succeed in STEM. Our club was established in 2004 as a purely competition-based club. Over time, however, our team has expanded to take on a role as a club focused on expanding the bounds of STEM and allowing for more diverse opportunities within Science Olympiad. Yearly, we host the third largest in-person Division B Science Olympiad Tournament in the state of Georgia, providing hundreds of students across multiple schools the opportunity to compete and enrich themselves in STEM. As a competitive club, we offer many opportunities for students at Northview High School to gain experience in STEM and compete against other schools.

Science Olympiad is a nation-wide STEM competition featuring 23 events across every field of STEM, from engineering to even human anatomy! At competitions, teams of 15 work to compete against other schools in each event, often working as pairs or in teams of three. For most events, teams bring their own study materials created before the competition, using their cheatsheets and binders to finish Science tests, lab experiments, or engineering trials.
Starting off, teams compete in invitational tournaments in the fall, with teams often coming from a confined area around the competition. In February, teams in Georgia compete at the regional tournament before the highest ranking teams from each region move onto the state tournament at Georgia Tech in March. At states, the top two teams advance to nationals, which will be held at the University of Southern California (USC) in May, 2026!
