It was such a pleasure to work on this ground floor and basement flat in Edinburgh’s New Town. There was no structural work to be done but the clients wanted help with a full decorative refurb that included a new bathroom and kitchen, some light electrical work, new fireplaces and decorative schemes for all areas.
As always, we worked in close collaboration with our clients to achieve the look and feel that they desired for their Edinburgh home, working with existing furniture and paintings to create a home that they now love.
This spacious, 4-bed apartment in Stockbridge has been untouched since the overseas owner purchased it several years earlier and the time had come for a full refurb. He owned a lot of period furniture, some of which was in place in the flat and some of which was being moved in from a second property, so the room layouts needed to accommodate as many of these items as possible without over-filling the rooms and the overall design needed to work sympathetically to incorporate an array of pieces. Our client also owned a significant range of artwork and the appropriate location and hanging of the paintings formed an important part of the design process.
The scope of work included a full refurbishment of 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, study, sitting room and the hallway and staircase. As the client lived abroad, all communication (design, specifications, sourcing and project progress updates) was carried out via email. Despite the many challenges created by multiple lockdowns during the course of the project, it was successfully completed in February 2021. Thankfully, both the client and we are delighted with the result. We hope you are too!
Our client had recently purchased this lovely, light filled double upper flat in the West End of Edinburgh and, working full time, required some assistance making it ‘her own’. There were various rooms and spaces required some reconfiguration, including the hall and staircase, the downstairs loo, the kitchen and the utility room, and the entire downstairs area was redecorated. Having established a clear brief from her, we were able to draw up revised room layouts that made each room work as she wanted it to work, and we worked with her to pull together a harmonious scheme that she loved. Our project managed a team of tradesmen who completed all the work on time and on budget and our client was delighted with the finished result.
