School Counseling Program
Mission Statement
Thinking, learning and growing with purpose, persistence and pride through a comprehensive and data-driven school counselor program that addresses students' academic, personal/social, career, and overall mental health needs.
Direct & Indirect Student Services
As a school counselor I believe.....
All students are worthwhile and deserve to be heard, acknowledged, and seen
Listening to a student and letting them know you understand is the most important gift a school counselor can provide
All students have innate abilities and potentials that become evident when we pay attention
School counselors can create programs that help ensure the mental, social, and emotional well-being of students
Students are most successful at school when their basic needs are met and they are mentally, socially, and emotionally well
Family involvement and engagement are necessary to students reaching their full potential and school counselors have a role in encouraging that involvement
Students need opportunities to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with someone they trust and feel safe around
A school counseling program...
Is comprehensive, evidence-based, data-driven, and responsive to students’ needs
Is aligned with the school and district’s mission, vision, and overall goals
Addresses students’ academic, personal/social, and career needs
Is driven by data and student outcomes that are assessed by the school counselor
Enhances the relationships and connections that a school counselor can build and make with students
Evolves and grows as the school counselor engages in professional development and growth
