Dr. Ellen Augustine (Augi) has been directing theater productions for 48 years. She began her directing career in another district as the music director for musical productions. When she transferred to Northridge High School she assumed the role of head director of the Theater Program. Since 1979, she has continued to grow the program from one production a year to now a fall drama, a competition play in November, and a spring musical in May.

In addition she has begun a Middle School program that currently has about 75 students enrolled to perform a competition play in November as well as a musical in March.

Kids Take the Stage, our elementary summer program, began about 20 years ago and is held for 2 weeks in June for grades K-6. This become the feeder program for the other two.

Augi has been married 50 years to her husband Bruce. She has 2 grown married sons and 3 grandchildren.  Needless to say, she loves her job.
