Dear users,
Recently, due to abuse by specific users described below, file access was temporarily cancelled. This cancellation will continue forward, with public file access being changed to a request-based access system only.
What happened? Users running scraping scripts, or other similar data hoarding actions, caused the bandwith on NKAAL's file storage to overwhelm the storage provider, causing our public access links to be restricted. After 24 hours, the links would have returned, but as NKAAL did not want to cause more costs in upgrading to superior bandwith access, NKAAL decided that there would be no future incident of the kind, by cancelling all public access to files.
How can I access files? To access files, NKAAL asks that you send an email to the email address on our "About Us" page, requesting the files you need access. NKAAL has no social media platforms, so there are no other means to request files than by email.
What if I need to access files but can't use email? Then files unfortunately will not be available for you.
Does this mean NKAAL is closing? No. NKAAL will continue to archive more files, in its online and offline archives. The only change comes to the way files are accessed.
Will public file access ever come back? It is not impossible.
