Frequently Asked Questions
- What faith affiliation does the club have?
Families and students of the First Coast Wavemakers need to agree with an evangelical statement of faith, the Nicene Creed, and position statements which are posted on the NCFCA website.
- How old do you have to be to participate?
Students must be 12-18 years of age to compete in speech and debate tournaments.
Juniors are students 7-11 years old and are welcome to attend and participate in club meetings with an older sibling.
- When do you meet?
Our club meets once weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30-9:00pm for the 2023/2024 school year (September through May).
- Where do you meet?
We will be meeting in north St. Johns County off of Route 13 near Race Track Road.
- Do parents have to stay?
Yes, this is not a drop off program and parental participation is essential to the success of our club - please plan to attend with your child as often as possible.
- Do I have to participate in both speech and debate?
No, but don't say we didn't warn you when your student asks to do both as the year goes on!
