We are all in, no registration needed. If you don't want to be in, just let me know.
Rules
Individual scoring
There are 2 important numbers. Your finishing position number and the number of people who started the race +1. Your score is calculated as a percentage for example – if you finished 5th and 66 people started the race, this would be 7.4626, take that from 100 = 92.5 (rounded to 1 decimal place)
The reason for the +1 is to ensure the person coming last still scores points.
The number of starters is important – a good example is that if you come 1st in a race with 200 people in, your score will be 99.5. If 40 people start, and you come 1st your score will be 97.5.
Your best 3 results will count. If you do less races, your score counts but anyone doing all 3 will place above you.
Relay Teams will be removed from the results.
Club scoring
All points are calculated as above. Your clubs top 2 places in the “Open” and “Female” categories count, in every race. Where there are no counters, there are no points scored.
If an appeal is made to the race officials, please let us know, clearly this will be a decision made by them and we will use the final result.
In the event of results being permanently unavailable, unfortunately that race will not count.
Processing the results is, unfortunately completed by a human! It is likely that errors will occur or that data is inaccurate. Typical and foreseeable mistakes are, the wrong club’s name, a misspelling of the athlete’s name or a numerical miscalculation. Where this is the case, please let us know as soon as possible and we will endeavour to put them right. Just so we do not have disappointment with retrospective corrections, we will limit this to up to 4 weeks after the race.
Leagues
Another thing to play for! Can you win your league or possibly come 2nd or 3rd?
The positions were worked out by last season's average score over 2 races.
Winners will all receive a prize - a free race entry from our sponsor "Wild Deer Events" (excludes Geordieman)
At the end of the series:
The top scorers win! In the unlikely event of a draw, the athlete who won the most head to heads will take the win. If that does not solve it, it is a draw!
The overall winners will have their names engraved on the Trophy and keep hold of it for the season - Open "The Tony Main Trophy" and Female "The Sandra Main Cup"
There will be prizes for 2nd and 3rd too.
There will be also be places for:
Under 20s, Seniors (20-39), Vets (40-49), Super Vets (50-59), Vintage (60-69) and Super Vintage (70+) both “Open” and “Female”
There will be podium places for the Second and Third in each Age group.
New for 2026 - The "2 legger"
This will run just like above, but with no leagues. The only difference is that the series is made up from 2 leg events - Aquathlon and Aquabike.
See the home page for the race schedule.
