EDUCATION
Having been interested in art from a young age, I picked it up in my education quite early on as my favoured subject in GCSE, to a year of studying A-level Fine Art alongside Politics and English Language. My studies here ceased due to a personal family loss, after which I was inspired to follow my artistic career full time. Enrolling in Newcastle college in 2021 to Level 3 Btec extended diploma Art and Design for 2 years. Earning a DD*D* grade. This led me to an unconditional offer from The Northern School of Art, studying BA (hons) Fine Art.
Each course has allowed me to expand my skills, develop my abilities and strengthen my knowledge of theory and practice. In both college and university, I've had the chance to partake in photography, life drawing sessions, sculpture (welding, casting carving) with ceramics, and printing workshops. My education has broadened my knowledge of techniques available to me as an artist, such as markmaking, painting, drawing, and developed artistic theories like intertextuality and hybridity. These previous projects led me to completing my dissertation, titled "How have contemporary artists responded to the pursuit of social justice?", which was graded at 68%, 2:1. I've since graduated in July 2026 with Second class upper division with honours, my work in the degree graduate show earned me the 'New Graduate Award' hosted by The Auxiliary CIC. This will allow me and 9 other recent graduates to display a joint exhibition in Middlesbrough Art Week 2026, alongside the Turner Prize.
