Making Votes Count

State and Federal Elections - getting two votes for the price of one!

Some people avoid voting green in the mistaken believe that their preferred candidate won't be elected, so they vote for their second choice.

A far better strategy is to vote for your 1st preference first, and your 2nd preference second.

If your first preference is eliminated, your vote goes to your next preference and counts exactly the same as if you had put that person first.

Effectively - you get 2 votes for the price of one!!!  If your first preference supports Greens principles, you tell the world that you do too.

More importantly, electoral funding is based on the number of first preference votes, so you may help your first preference recoup some of the costs of standing in the election.
