e-Sgoil

Supported by the Northern Alliance through the team of Digital Depute Heads, e-Sgoil have developed the 'live' element of the national offer. The live content is also then available as recorded resources in the West Online School.

What is e-Sgoil?

e-Sgoil originated in the Western Isles as a ground up initiative to provide equity in the curriculum through high quality digital learning and teaching. Through further development within the Northern Alliance Regional Improvement Collaborative and as a result of COVID-19, it has now developed into a collaborative response to teach live interactive lessons directly to children and young people as part of the national e-learning offer. It seeks to improve outcomes for children and young people.

What content is available?

e-Sgoil delivers a variety of live interactive content ranging from the broad general education phase to the senior phase - even early years! Daytime lessons and study support are available across a variety of curriculum areas.

How should it be used?


The learning lessons can be accessed in a number of ways. e-Sgoil provides a timetable of live interactive lessons which can support your curriculum offer.


How can e-Sgoil be accessed?

Children and young people access e-Sgoil via Microsoft Teams within Glow (a Glow username and password are required). Each lesson is unique and can be signposted by practitioners. Head teachers can complete an enquiry form within the website where a member of the team will be in touch with them.
