Kindergarten Playdates [Saturday Aug. 22nd 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. & Friday Aug. 28th 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.]

• Opportunity to meet up with other Kindergarten families on the school playground - designed to ease the transition for incoming kindergartners

All-school playdate [Thursday, September 3rd after school open house -- 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.]

• Opportunity for families with students in all grades to meet up on the school playground - reunite with friends before school starts!

Welcome-back community meal [Thursday, September 17th]

• Families gather one evening during the first few weeks of school to celebrate the beginning of the academic year. Bring a dish to pass and join us on the playground! The PTA provides treats and gifts to welcome the staff back into the building

Student Directory

• Contact information for families making playdates, birthday parties, and other community organizing possible. Funds raised through directory ads support other PTA programs

Classroom Grants

• Every year the PTA donates thousands of dollars to Northeast classrooms through the grant program, enabling field trips, curriculum enrichment, visiting performers, school improvements, and more!

• Marking a moment in time to look back on in future days.

Staff Appreciation Week [spring]

• Every year the PTA finds new ways to thank the teachers and staff members of Northeast Elementary during Teacher Appreciation Week, but it always involves families bringing in their favorite dishes to create a delicious home-cooked meal showing their love and appreciation.

Snack Cabinet

• Helping teachers by providing community snacks for students. Donations are always welcome

Specialized after-school activities and creative programs.

Enrichment

• After-school classes designed to be educational and fun. There is a sliding scale on participation fees to enable more children to participate.

SilverGraphics

• Have your children's art turned into giftable keepsakes. This program raises funds that are used to support other PTA programs.

Sports programs focused on skill-building and district-wide play.

Skiing [January/February]

• Students take skiing lessons at Greek Peak. Participation fees cover transportation and instruction.

5K and Fun Run [October/November]

• A fun 5k around the school supported by Fingerlakes Running Club

Social gatherings and seasonal celebrations for Northeast families.

Family Science Night [February]

• Join as for free at the Ithaca Sciencenter for an evening exploring the museum. Dinner provided by NEPTA (or bring your own!).

Book Fair [Fall, Spring]

• Encouraging a love of reading, the Scholastic Book Fair brings a book store into the school twice a year. Sales generate funds that contribute to other PTA programs.

Halloween Parade [October 31]

• Kick off the night with friends! Kids parade around the block in their costumes before trick-or-treating begins. Participation and treats are free for all!

Cultural Community Night [March or April]

• This free event celebrates the diverse cultures that make up the Northeast community. Families bring favorite cultural dishes to share, and local performers give a glimpse of the breadth of our varied backgrounds.

Carnival [June]

• Celebrate the end of the school year with the whole Northeast community. Games and prizes, bounce house and inflatable slide, cotton candy, a dunk tank, performers and more! This event serves as both a memory-maker and a fundraiser for other PTA programs.

Silver Graphics

• Display your child's artwork on mugs, nightlights, and other cool accessories!

Box Tops

• Join us in earning funds through the Box Tops for Education program! Each Box Top you collect digitally earns cash for our school. This year, all Box Tops funds will help provide classroom snacks for teachers who don’t get enough donations to keep their snack supplies stocked.

  Use our referral code attached to earn an extra $8 for our school when you sign up!
