Garden members must join at least one work team and are welcome to join more. Yellow highlights indicate a particular need for help. General garden questions and concerns can be directed to the Member Check-in Team (see Coordination section for email addresses). If you have a skill, talent or passion to share that is not on this list, we can add a new work team for you.

Lead Coordination
Tasks: Run spring and fall potluck meetings, send out spring and fall reports, oversee teams and committee work, make sure the membership and newsletters are posted on the message board kiosk, decide on signage needs, and keep google docs up to date. Provide guidance for large projects and spending. Mediate concerns and conflict as needed.
Membership/Waitlist
Tasks: Post on FPF to find folks to join the waitlist, keep google doc membership list and garden map up to date, keep waitlist and assign new plots, send new member info to Treasurer, New Member Welcome, and Email List work teams.
Treasurer/Dues Collection
Tasks: Collect dues, write checks for expenses, coordinate with Membership to make sure all are paid, follow up and track plot fees that haven't been paid (via calls, emails and postcards).
Email List
Tasks: Keep member email list up to date and send out notices
Message Board
Tasks: Keep the message board kiosk waterproof and supplied with chalk.
Signs
Tasks: Make signs and post in garden, seek guidance from Co-Coordinators
Facebook Page
Tasks: Maintain facebook page. Post interesting info, news and updates. Monitor posts and comments for inappropriate conduct and delete as necessary.

Tasks: Call garden members once each summer to check-in, confirm contact info (email, phone), discuss work team assignment, and make sure they have access to garden resources and members. Serve as point person for member concerns, refer to specific members/work teams.
Grant Writing
Tasks: Find and write grant proposals for projects such as composting toilet, greenhouse, pump replacement, new tools and equipment, fencing materials or other ideas from members.
New Member Welcome
Tasks: Welcome new members, provide welcome letter and garden guidelines. Review guidelines and expectations and answer any questions. Provide whatever orientation is needed at the garden. Make sure new gardeners understand Plot Use Expectations and the role of the Pay It Forward team should they need help during the season. Encourage new members to join a work team.
Plot Use
Tasks: Ensure the Plot Use Expectations are met. Work with gardeners to encourage them to succeed, and refer them to the Pay It Forward team for extra help if it looks like they need it. On or around June 1st, reach out to folks whose plots appear as yet unused. Recheck plots in August, then contact gardeners whose plots have not been maintained. If appropriate, encourage them to give up their plot to the next person on the wait-list.

Tasks: Help struggling members who are having a hard time staying on top of their garden due to health, family emergency, or other difficulties. Help first year gardeners rototill their plots if they wish, have general success and feel welcomed and supported. Simply walk the garden and reach out to folks who look like they need help, and also be responsive when the Plot Use team emails to say someone needs some help.
Snakeworm Info
Tasks: Serve as a resource and provide information to reduce and manage the invasive snakeworm. Respond to members seeking guidance and suggestions to control this pest which endangers healthy forests.
Newsletter
Tasks: Use your creativity to put together a newsletter once or more times during the summer, solicit articles and gardening tips, interview members, embellish with photos and art. Highlight individual members and garden efforts with the goal of connecting members and building community.
Work Parties
Tasks:
1. Organize Work Parties - set dates and send email reminders, prepare task list (get input from Coordination team), find leaders for each set of tasks, set up poll for members RSVP if needed
2. Lead Work Parties - lead two work parties in the beginning of each summer—one saturday morning, one sunday afternoon, provide snacks and drinks, organize supplies needed, bring list of work tasks to be completed, bring plot map, collect attendee names and hours worked (email to Work Log team), write summary of who attended and what work did and didn’t get done
Member Socials & More
Tasks: Organize potlucks and other educational or fun events to bring members together. Ideas include presentations by experts, painting or photography workshops, garden tours, and group food preparation/preservation.
Water
Tasks: Keep well, solar charger, pump and all water stations working, drain/unhook water system in fall.
Mowing
Tasks: Keep garden mowed inside and out, as well as mow around berry bushes at far end.
Tools
Tasks: Keep tools inventoried, painted and labeled, handles oiled and fixed, new tools bought as needed, and keep tool rack in good shape.
Rototiller/Mower
Tasks: Keep tiller and mower in working order with gas and oil, and also post instructions for use.
Fence
Tasks: Keep an eye on fence and fix as needed.
Kids’ Space
Tasks: Plant and maintain a kid-friendly space, keep playhouse clean and play yard neat, maintain grape and hops arbors.
Blueberries & Currants
Tasks: Care for berry bushes including weeding, mulching and pest control. Help with efforts to get large loads of cardboard, chip mulch, etc.
Groundhog Patrol
Tasks: Trap groundhogs and dispose of them, check traps daily if set. Walk garden and survey members to monitor crop loss, find holes and set traps promptly.
Comfrey Control
Tasks: Dig up and dispose of all comfrey in garden before it sets seed, at least once a month. Survey members to see if anyone would like the comfrey for compost or herbal medicine.
Gleaning & Food Donations
Tasks: Supply gleaning box and do weekly pickups throughout summer. Email reminders to members. Connect with local food shelf and soup kitchens to drop off food donations.
