The FPCC awarded contractors $5.3 million for the first-stage of construction and $2.3 million for the second phase which includes a $1.6 million from a federal Transportation Alternatives Program grant to supplement CMAQ funding.
A relatively small share of Americans (31%) believe the U.S. should phase out the use of oil, coal and natural gas completely; far more (67%) say the country should use a mix of fossil fuel and renewable energy sources. Officials are considering ways to remove carbon emissions from the atmosphere through tree plantings as well as carbon capture and storage techniques.
Still, at present, the public generally opposes breaking with fossil fuels entirely. Two-thirds (67%) say the U.S. should use a mix of energy sources including oil, coal and natural gas along with renewable energy sources. A smaller share (31%) says the U.S. should phase out fossil fuels completely and only rely on renewable sources such as wind and solar power.
Differences between Republicans and Democrats are similarly large when it comes to the question of whether the U.S. should use a mix of renewable and fossil fuel energy sources or should phase out the use of oil, coal and natural gas completely.
By contrast, Democrats are roughly divided in their views: Half say the U.S. should use a mix of energy sources, while about the same share (49%) thinks the U.S. should phase out the use of fossil fuels completely and rely instead on sources such as wind and solar.
There are wide differences of opinion on this question among Democrats by ideology. A majority of moderate and conservative Democrats (61%) think the U.S. should use a mix of both fossil fuel and renewable energy sources going forward. A majority of liberal Democrats (63%) take the opposite view and say the U.S. should phase out the use of oil, coal and natural gas completely and rely instead on renewable sources.
Younger adults, ages 18 to 29, are about as likely to say the U.S. should phase out fossil fuels completely (48%) as to say it should use a mix of energy sources (50%). In contrast, roughly two-thirds or more of older adults in every other age group say the U.S. should use a mix of fossil fuels and renewable energy sources rather than phase out fossil fuels completely. Age differences in views are seen within both the Republican and Democratic parties. See Appendix for more details.
Shoreline Protection Video
Check out our latest video on NDLSD Shoreline Protection! We often receive questions about current and future lake water levels and how the project team is considering climate resiliency. A major component of the NDLSD project is to provide improved shoreline protection measures that address these issues. We have produced a 3-minute video to show how we have been developing and testing potential shoreline protection measures (including creating a scale model of a key section of the lakefront in a wave tank!) that may ultimately be incorporated into the corridor design. We have also prepared a Study Spotlight to review this topic. VIDEO STUDY SPOTLIGHT PROJECT VISUALIZATIONS
What will it look like while walking, running, or bicycling along the north lakefront?
How will it feel to wait for the bus along Inner Drive?
To help answer some of these questions and better illustrate the potential user experience alongthe north lakefront, we have created over twenty new visualizations . These incorporate input from the Summer 2022 Access and Experience at the Lakefront Survey, along with the Public Life Study. Thank you to everyone who participated in these efforts to improve the corridor design through better placemaking.

It is a two-step orthodontic procedure that straightens teeth and changes the way the face looks. The goal of two-phase treatment is to give your child the best chance of getting long-term results that are healthy, functional, and look good.
The teeth are not in their final positions after the first phase of treatment. This goal will be set and reached in the second phase of treatment. This is a good time to take out some baby teeth to help the permanent teeth come in. Because of this, there need to be some follow-ups, usually every six months.
At the beginning of the first phase of orthodontic therapy, a plan was made for diagnosis and treatment. In the first step, the teeth and jaw were realigned and straightened with the help of a number of tools. During the second stage, which starts after all permanent teeth have grown in, all teeth need braces for an average of 24 months. After this step, your child will need to wear a retainer to protect his or her beautiful smile.
Wendy Holmes, a senior vice president with the nonprofit, says she hopes to receive 500 to 800 survey responses before the survey closes on November 5. Feedback from the first phase of the project in July showed enought interest from artists to move to the next phase.
"They [artists] feel rather isolated. They don't have a lot of spaces where they can congregate. They represent a lot of diverse backgrounds and expertise and interests. I think that they feel like they need more of a spotlight on them, that they're a little hidden," Holmes said.
"We use what we call a three-to-one redundancy ratio," Marwah said. "So for every three artists who say that they would move into some kind of space, we usually build one unit. So if three people say, 'Yes, I want housing tomorrow,' we would feel comfortable building one unit of housing knowing that changes happen and things evolve and things happen down the road."
Each of these movement variations have their own benefits and recruit a combination of different muscle groups. In order to get the most out of these exercises, there are some cues you can use while performing them to help develop a stronger mind-muscle connection so you can feel your back muscles engaging.
Many people go to a chiropractor because they are in pain. In this first phase of care, the main goal is to reduce your symptoms. Sometimes this will require daily visits, or two to three visits per week for a time.
Most people are under the assumption that if they don't feel any pain that there is nothing wrong with them - that they are healthy. Unfortunately, pain is a very poor indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced.
After a few months (though time differs with each individual), your initial excitement may recede, while differences between your home culture and the new culture become more troubling. This can lead to anxiety, insomnia, stomach upset, and feelings of homesickness, loneliness and frustration. This is the most difficult stage, but it does not last! (See below for some tips on how to overcome this phase.)
Generally after 6 to 12 months (again, depending on the individual), routines begin to develop and things start to feel normal. Homesickness subsides. You begin to feel more able to access information. You feel more relaxed and have fewer negative emotions.

Building off of his vision, designers for this classic athletic facility had to develop a space suitable for recruitment and development of elite athletes. The gothic limestone exterior attracts students with a powerful feel of traditional campus architecture.
Once across the threshold, students are greeted with a modern energy that is evident through illumination and transparency. Technology, design, and first class amenities encourage athletes to achieve their goals. To soften the contemporary design features, carpeting was selected to accent the royal purple interior finishes, creating a feeling of warmth and depth.
To further accentuate the expansive open spaces in the locker area, carpet with an organic large-scale pattern was used to create a contemporary feel. In the corridors, patterns were installed directionally helping to break up the long hallways. Providing a modern twist to what could have been a generic meeting space, luxurious royal purple carpet wrapped the floors of the executive conference room.
