What is NordPhil?

NordPhil is a philosophy conference series for students affiliated with a Nordic university. It has previously been held at the University of Oslo, Uppsala University, Lund University, University of Copenhagen, Stockholm University, and Tampere University. The seventh edition of NordPhil was held at Tartu University in 2023. The conference provides a valuable platform for philosophy students who wish to present their own academic projects.

Why NordPhil?

NordPhil aims to invigorate Nordic academic philosophy by the roots, providing an arena for aspiring Nordic philosophy students to develop their professional skills and test their ideas in an encouraging critical environment.

More broadly, the conference intends to foster a greater exchange of ideas between Nordic philosophers with the long term goal of promoting the international standing of Nordic philosophy.

When and where?

NordPhil 2023 took place at Tartu University on September 15-16.
