Procrastination is a major issue in today's people and that includes adults to an extent. I focused more on high school/college students when investigating the issue.
Yes and here's why...
I administered a survey to 22 high school/college students like me to gauge an idea of just how bad procrastination is and here are the results:
This shows that 86.4% of the 22 do "procrastinate". To me, that isn't shocking considering how well I know some of the people who took it, including myself! The 9.1% being not sure to me may count towards the 86 because they might not know that they procrastinate.
Another question that hammers home how much of a problem procrastination is to people. In total 86.4% of students had some sort of negative impact on them when they procrastinated. Whether it be anger, sadness or a bittersweet feeling that, as I know, never ends well.
Distrations in my opinion almost always lead to procrastination and here's proof of that in the poeple around me. Over 90% say that they get distracted at least a little bit to "very often".
Here are the top reasons for procrastination according to my survey:
Watch TV/YouTube/TikTok/etc.
Play video gamesÂ
Use social media
Disassociate (the disconnection or separation of something from something else or the state of being disconnected)
Listen to music/podcast/etc.
Yes, I did infact say "lessen". Procrastination will always be around. As long as there is something that you want to do besides work/school/etc. procrastination will come-a-knocking. But fear not, NoPro is here to help.
