BRIEF HISTORY
The world “NOP” is a Blaan word for certain plant, which is used to make a “nigo” or a winnower.
Sitio Nop is a far – flung place located in Barangay Spring, Alabel, Sarangani Province. Most of the settlers are Blaan whose primary source of livelihood is farming.
In 1990, only four families were living in this place, the Balco, Rebaton, Tammy and King. The King family is the one who owned the land. Since then, Nop became one Sitio of Barangay Spring, Alabel, Sarangani Province. Years passed by, its population grows and at present there are more or less seventy (70) families in Sitio Nop.

The eastern part of the barangay is the Municipality of Malapatan and the barangay Ladol is the western part of the Barangay. Barangay Kawas is the southern part of the Barangay and in the northern Part of it is the Barangay Poblacion .
BELIEFS AND PRACTICES
The people are mostly Christians which divided in different denominations. They believed in one God the creator of heaven and earth.
ECONOMY
Considering this place is dominantly inhabited by Blaans, Farming is the main source of their living. In their Clearings, they grow corn, banana, and vegetables. What are left after domestic consumption is bought to the market to be sold. The domestic animals include a few chickens, dogs, cats, horses and pigs.
