Privacy Policy & Community Guidelines for Noorify Quran & Namaz Timing

At Noorify Quran & Namaz Timing, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This document explains our privacy practices, how we safeguard your information, and the community rules that govern user interactions when using our mobile application ("App").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the practices and rules described in this Privacy Policy & Community Guidelines.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data (Sensitive Personal Information)

To provide accurate Islamic services such as prayer times and Qibla direction, the App may request access to your device's location.

How We Use Location Data:

To calculate accurate daily prayer times based on your geographic location.

To determine the correct Qibla direction.

To improve location-based Islamic features.

Data Storage: Your location data is processed locally on your device. Location coordinates may be temporarily stored in secure local storage to support offline functionality. We do not upload, track, store, or share your real-time or historical location information on our servers.

1.2 Account & Profile Information

When you create an account, we may collect the following information:

Authentication Information: Email address, Password (securely managed through Supabase Authentication).

Profile Information: Username, Full name, Profile picture (avatar), Biography (optional).

Community Content: Information you voluntarily share within the Community section, including posts, comments, replies, likes, bookmarks, and follow/follow-request interactions.

1.3 Device & Diagnostic Information

To maintain app performance and reliability, we may collect limited technical information, including:

Device model, operating system version, app version, device language settings, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token.

Purpose: This information helps us deliver prayer reminders, send community updates, diagnose technical issues, and improve overall application performance.

2. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate and improve our services. These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies:

Supabase: Used for user authentication, database management, and secure storage of profile images and community media.

Firebase (Google Cloud): Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) is used to send prayer reminders, deliver Islamic notifications, and notify users about community interactions.

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): To support the free operation of the App, advertisements may be displayed through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID), IP address, device information, and performance data to provide personalized or non-personalized advertisements.

3. Camera, Photos & Media Permissions

The App may request access to your device's camera, photos, and media storage.

Purpose of Access: Uploading a profile picture, sharing images within community posts, and attaching media content to user-generated posts.

Media Processing: Images and media selected by users are securely uploaded to Supabase Storage and are used solely for the functionality requested by the user.

4. Background Audio Playback

The App may use foreground service permissions to enable uninterrupted Quran audio playback while:

The device screen is locked.

The App is minimized.

The App is running in the background.

5. Exact Alarms & Local Notifications

The App may request the following Android permissions: USE_EXACT_ALARM and SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM.

Why We Need These Permissions: Islamic prayer times change daily based on astronomical calculations and geographical location. Exact alarms ensure that Adhan and Salah notifications are delivered at the correct prayer times.

Privacy Assurance: All alarm scheduling and notification triggers are handled locally on your device through Android's AlarmManager. We do not collect, transmit, or store alarm schedules or notification preferences.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We believe users should have full control over their personal information.

In-App Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings section.

External Deletion Requests (Google Play Compliance): If you are unable to access your account, you may request account deletion by contacting us via email:

 (Subject Line: Account Deletion Request). Verified requests will be processed within 7 business days.

Information Removed Upon Deletion: When an account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems: Email address, authentication credentials, profile details, profile images, community posts, comments, replies, likes, and bookmarks.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

SSL/TLS encrypted communication.

Secure authentication systems.

Restricted database access and secure cloud infrastructure.

Please note: While we strive to protect your personal information using commercially acceptable methods, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Noorify Quran & Namaz Timing is intended for a general audience and is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will promptly delete it.

9. Community Guidelines

Our community section is dedicated to Islamic learning, spiritual encouragement, and respectful connection. By participating, you agree to follow these guidelines:

9.1 Islamic Knowledge & Authenticity

Provide Reference: When sharing Quranic verses (Ayahs), Hadiths, or rulings, always try to provide the source/reference (e.g., Surah Name/Verse Number, Sahih Al-Bukhari, Muslim, etc.).

Avoid Misinformation: Do not share unverified Islamic statements, fabricated Hadiths, or controversial opinions without standard scholarly consensus.

Respect Differences: Disagreements regarding minor jurisprudential (Fiqh) issues should be discussed with respect, patience, and humility. Sectarian hatred or attacking other schools of thought is strictly prohibited.

9.2 Respectful Behavior & Harassment

No Hate Speech: Bullying, harassment, insults, or derogatory remarks directed at individuals, scholars, or groups based on race, origin, sect, or gender are strictly forbidden.

Polite Interactions: In comments and replies, use kind and constructive language. Do not mock, belittle, or argue aggressively with others.

9.3 Content Modesty & Appropriate Media

Halal Content Only: Do not share, post, or link to inappropriate, obscene, vulgar, or mature content.

Modest Avatars & Profile Photos: Profile pictures and usernames must remain respectful and modest, in line with Islamic values.

No Political Rants: Avoid posting highly political, controversial, or non-Islamic current affairs debates that could divide the community.

9.4 Dua Requests & Privacy

Respect Privacy: When posting Dua requests, do not share extremely sensitive personal info, phone numbers, or private details of yourself or others.

Supportive Responses: Answer Dua requests with sincerity (e.g., saying Ameen, JazakAllah, or writing short supportive prayers). Do not judge or criticize people's situations.

9.5 Advertising & Spam

No Commercial Ads: Do not post unauthorized advertisements, promote personal businesses, link to commercial products, or share spam links.

No Copy-Paste Spam: Do not repeatedly copy-paste the same message across multiple posts or comments.

9.6 Enforcement & Penalties

To keep our community safe, our automated and admin moderation systems enforce the rules as follows:

Auto-Hide on Reports: Any post reported by 3 or more users will be automatically hidden from the public feed pending admin review.

Warning System:

Warning #1: For minor or first-time violations. A popup notice will appear in the app describing the violation.

Warning #2 (Final Warning): A final warning warning is sent. Further violation will lead to account restrictions.

Warning #3 (3-Day Temporary Ban): The account is suspended for 3 days. Access to authentication and posting is restricted.

Warning #4 (Permanent Suspension): The account and its associated email are permanently banned from accessing community features.

Direct Bans: Severe violations (such as posting blasphemous, highly offensive, or illegal content) will result in an immediate permanent ban without warnings.

9.7 Appeals & Cooldown

If you believe your account was restricted or warned in error, you can submit an appeal through the "Need Help? Submit Appeal" option on the login screen.

Appeals are reviewed manually by our moderation team. A decision is typically reached within 3-5 business days.

If an appeal is rejected, a cooldown period of 24 hours will apply before you can submit another appeal request.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or operational practices. Any updates will be posted within the App and reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date.
