Privacy Policy for NoobNav
Effective date: April 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NoobNav handles information when you use the Android version of the NoobNav app.
NoobNav is an assistive touch and floating shortcut app for Android. Its features include a floating overlay button, custom shortcuts, optional accessibility-powered navigation actions, optional flashlight control, optional brightness and rotation controls, optional silent/vibration shortcuts, and the ability to hide the floating button on selected apps.
Summary
NoobNav is designed to process data on your device.
- No user account is required.
- No personal profile is created.
- No analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or crash reporting SDK is included in the current Android build reviewed on April 26, 2026.
- The current Android build does not request the INTERNET permission and does not transmit your data to the developer's servers.
Information NoobNav Accesses
1. Accessibility Service
If you enable NoobNav's Accessibility Service, the app uses it to:
- perform Android global actions such as Back, Home, Recent Apps, Lock Screen, Power Menu, and Screenshot when you trigger those shortcuts;
- detect the current foreground app package name so the floating button can hide on apps you selected.
NoobNav is not designed to collect or transmit the text you type, passwords, messages, or the content of other apps. Although Android may describe Accessibility access broadly at the system level, NoobNav uses this access only for the assistive features described above.
If you use the screenshot shortcut, the screenshot is created by Android's system functionality. NoobNav does not upload the screenshot or keep a separate copy inside the app.
2. Installed Apps Information
To let you choose app shortcuts and hide the overlay on selected apps, NoobNav may read:
- installed app names;
- package names;
- launcher activity identifiers;
- app icons.
This functionality may require Android package visibility access so the app can query launchable installed applications on your device.
This information is processed locally on your device. NoobNav stores only the shortcut selections and hidden-app package identifiers that you choose for configuration. NoobNav does not use your installed app list for advertising, profiling, or sale.
3. Camera Permission
If you enable the flashlight shortcut, NoobNav requests Camera permission only to toggle the device torch/flashlight.
NoobNav does not use the camera to take photos or record video.
4. Modify System Settings Permission
If you enable brightness or rotation shortcuts, NoobNav may request permission to modify system settings so it can:
- change screen brightness;
- enable or disable auto-rotate.
5. Display Over Other Apps
NoobNav requests overlay permission to show the floating assistive touch button above other apps.
6. Foreground Service and Notification
When the floating button is active, NoobNav runs a foreground service and shows an ongoing notification so Android can keep the overlay running reliably.
7. Do Not Disturb / Notification Policy Access
If you use silent mode related shortcuts on supported Android versions, Android may require Do Not Disturb or Notification Policy access. This access is used only to switch the device ringer mode when you trigger that shortcut. NoobNav does not read your notification content.
8. Local App Settings
NoobNav stores configuration data locally on your device, such as:
- selected shortcuts;
- shortcut order;
- long-press and double-tap actions;
- button size, opacity, theme, and auto-hide delay;
- hidden app package list;
- lock-screen related visibility preferences, when used.
This settings data is stored locally using Android app storage and SharedPreferences.
How NoobNav Uses Information
NoobNav uses accessed information only to provide the app's features, including:
- showing and managing the floating shortcut button;
- performing user-selected shortcut actions;
- remembering your settings;
- hiding the overlay on apps you selected;
- launching apps you pinned as shortcuts.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
NoobNav does not sell your personal data.
In the current Android build reviewed on April 26, 2026, NoobNav does not send app usage data, installed app lists, accessibility event data, screenshots, or settings data to the developer's servers.
NoobNav does not share your data with advertising networks or analytics providers in the current Android build.
Data Retention
Configuration data remains on your device until you change it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
Runtime information such as the current foreground app package name is used on-device for feature behavior and is not intended to be stored as a user history.

You can control NoobNav's access at any time by:
- not enabling optional permissions;
- disabling the Accessibility Service;
- disabling overlay permission;
- revoking Camera permission;
- revoking Modify System Settings access;
- revoking Do Not Disturb or Notification Policy access where applicable;
- clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
Please note that some features will not work unless the related permission is granted.
Children's Privacy
NoobNav is not directed to children under 13, and the app is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
