NoMote functions primarily as a tool to control external hardware. To provide this service, we access the following device features:
Bluetooth Permissions (BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT): We use Bluetooth to discover and connect to your Android TV or Airtel Xstream box.
Note on Location: On certain Android versions, Bluetooth scanning may technically require location access. We use the neverForLocation flag, meaning we do not collect, store, or share your physical location. Bluetooth is used strictly for device connectivity.
Infrared (IR) Blaster: If your device has a built-in Infrared transmitter, we use it to send remote control signals to your TV/Set-top box. No data is collected through this hardware; it is a one-way communication to your TV.
Accelerometer (Shake Control): We access your device's motion sensors to allow "Shake to Navigate" functionality. This motion data is processed locally in real-time and is never stored or transmitted.
3. Data Collection and Sharing
Personal Data: We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Device Identifiers: To maintain a stable connection with your TV, the app may locally identify your TV's device ID. This information stays on your phone and is not sent to our servers.
Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell or share any user data with third parties.
4. Data Safety
We follow industry standards to ensure your interaction with your TV is secure.
Encryption: Data transmitted via Bluetooth is handled using standard Android security protocols.
No Cloud Storage: Since we do not use accounts, your remote settings and device pairings are stored locally on your device only.
5. Children’s Privacy
Our app is not designed to collect data from children under the age of 13. As we do not collect any personal information, we are fully compliant with COPPA and GDPR regulations regarding minors.
