The corruption, brutality, and lawlessness of Trump and his billionaire enablers MUST be opposed. We need YOU to make No Kings III an overwhelming demonstration of opposition to this regime’s cruel authoritarian agenda.
On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: No thrones, no crowns, no kings!
PRE-RALLY EVENT: JOIN THE FIGHT!
Saturday, March 28, 10:30am
Our previous No Kings events fostered unification, hope, and courage. No Kings III will certainly do that, but it is time to do more. The No Kings III - Norfolk Rally & March will not only bring people together to protest against the Trump Regime, but will enlist attendees in concrete actions that contribute to the fight for democracy.
We have partnered with over a dozen local organizations that are actively pushing back against this administration's abuses. They will each have a booth in the rally area of Town Point Park. They will be set up and ready to greet you at 10:30am. They will also be available as you wait to join the line for the march and after the march as well. Please visit these organizations and find out how you can join the fight!

MARCH
After the rally we will march from Town Point Park along a 1-mile route. We will start by moving west on Waterside Drive. Curve onto Boush St., heading north. Turn right onto Bute St/W Charlotte, and right onto Granby St. We will be stopping at the Norfolk Federal Building to protest the abuses of ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), specifically. ICE has a regional office in the Norfolk Federal Building. We will then move south on Granby and will end at Town Point Park. This would be a great time to visit the booths of our partner organizations, if you have not already done so, before you head to Waterside to celebrate a successful rally & march.
Unless the police instruct us to move to the street for a short portion of the march, we will be marching on the sidewalk. We have a permit to march on the sidewalk, NOT the street.
Please remember to bring your signs and water with you!
Please Note: If our first No Kings Rally & March is any indication, there is likely to be a wait to work your way into the march once it gets started. And that's a GOOD thing! The longer our march stretches out, the more visibility we get! Also, the wait will give you time to visit the booths of our partner organizations and to put your blankets and chairs in your cars.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action.
We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation
with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.
Weapons of any kind, Including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
City of Norfolk Police will be on hand to assure a safe event. Thank you NPD!
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
RSVP
If you haven't already done so, please consider letting us know that you will attend, here.
Rain or Shine
No Kings III - Norfolk Rally & March will take place rain or shine, please dress accordingly.
One of the things that makes No Kings protests so powerful is that so many of us come together on the same day. For financial and logistical reasons also, there is no rain date.
Make Signs!
During our past Norfolk rallies, we have been very impressed with the powerful, and often playful, messages on your signs, t-shirts, and hats. We don't want to hamper creativity or free speech, but consider avoiding anything that can be seen as violent. The right will use that against us, and it will undermine our message.
Lawn Chairs & Blankets
Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome! It can be difficult for people in the back to see and hear. More attendees will be able to enjoy the event if some folks sit on the grass in front of the stage, some sit behind them in low beach chairs, and some behind them in folding lawn chairs. If you wish to participate in the march, you should have time to put your blankets and chairs in your car while you wait for a place in the march.
Bring
In addition to your signs and something to sit on, consider bringing water, sun screen, a hat, and possibly a rain coat. Blow-up costumes are welcome!
Parking
Check the City of Norfolk parking website for information.
Transportation
Please consider carpooling and ridesharing.
Children
People under the age of 18 are allowed at the No Kings III - Norfolk Rally & March. The protest event is being held in a public space, and everyone is welcome. We issue no advice or recommendations. For underage participants, we defer to the parents' comfort level.
Why Protest?
We believe that protests do a great deal. They provide community, solidarity, a release, inspiration, hope, and COURAGE. The larger the numbers, the more others think "I can join that." It gives people courage to stand up. To resist. And it provides connection, so that folks can organize and take other actions (such as phone banks, campaigning, etc.)
The student protests during the Vietnam War were not the only factor in ending that war, but they were a major component. It kept the issue in the news, and therefore, in the public's mind. They didn't let people ignore or forget about what was going on.
“If you want to guarantee success against authoritarianism, there is one more thing you must do: You must grow until at least 3.5% of the population is out in the streets protesting.
“That is the 3.5% rule. Along with all the other criteria, if you manage to get that 3.5% of the country out in the streets with you, the historical data suggests your movement will win.”
-- Rachel Maddow

Vote YES by April 21
Across the country, Trump and MAGA-controlled legislatures are taking unprecedented steps to redraw congressional maps — without voter approval — to rig upcoming elections. As states like Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and soon Florida move forward, Virginians face the real risk of having our voices diminished in Washington. This amendment gives Virginians the power to act — before it’s too late!
Early voting has started. Parking at Norfolk City Hall is FREE.

With Donald Trump starting illegal wars, secret police kidnapping and killing our neighbors, and the regime working overtime to suppress the vote in the midterm elections, silence isn't an option. This Saturday we will gather to protest the most imperial presidency in American history!
No Kings III - Norfolk Rally & March is part of the national No Kings Initiative, a nationwide day of defiance. No Kings III is projected to be the largest country-wide protest in US history. Let’s work together to do everything in our power to make the next No Kings as large, principled, and powerful as this moment demands!
We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us!
