No Kings Rally & March - Norfolk, VA
No Kings Rally & March - Norfolk, VA
Thank you all for attending the rally & march and for making them such a success. Marchers stretched the entire 1.2 mile length of the march route from the park to the brewery! And in many spots, marchers were on both sides of the street marching two by two! We made the front page of The Virginian-Pilot the following day -- "above the fold"! And Trump's event doesn't appear until page 6. (Talk about schadenfreude!) One of our many goals was to pull press attention away from Trump's Russian-style military parade. CHECK! Kudos to media relations expert Tanya Kaish Keller!

On June 14, as Trump throws himself a $45 million military parade in DC, we're going to be rising up with protests all across the country. In Norfolk, VA, we will rally and march to reject Trump's authoritarian vision and show the wannabe-king what democracy looks like!
This event is part of the national No Kings initiative, a nationwide day of defiance on Flag Day, during Trump’s birthday parade. No Kings Rally & March - Norfolk, VA is organized by COVA Coalition & Indivisible.

NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.
Our democracy is under attack. But we will not yield to authoritarianism. We will stand together and we'll fight back in defense of our rights, our communities, and our values.
