I'm trying to work out how to turn off the sound that my Oneplus 8 makes every time I send a text message. Does anyone know how? turning off text message notification sounds doesn't do it, it just removes the message received sound, which I want to keep intact.

Problem solved thanks to u/TheManWithSaltHair :

If anyone is googling/searching for it:

It was of course its own settings menu within the text message menu, accessed through the three dots on the upper right corner.

Chat stuff is also annoying - you get the "new" rich messages, but you can toggle these off and usethe application for what it's meant to do - SMS, if anyone still uses those (why not, but hey). What Ifound particularly jarring is the "smart reply" thing. I toggled it off completely, but I still saw anoverlay for Whatsapp notifications showing with these corny one-word, one-liner replies. Might needmore investigation, but all in all, yet another feature that takes away from human interaction andturns it into botty nonsense.

The Calendar app on Nokia 5.3 is meh. It feels very crayony, with overbright, childish colors andnot really that useful information. Similarly, you cannot set reminders without using the Assistant. This seems to be a gentle, not-so-gentle shove-push to make people use the Assistant. Nope. Why do Ineed Assistant for what is essentially a single-tone alarm? Nonsense. Weather app, also crayony. Plus, less readable. Plus, the vast emptiness in between the top and bottom parts - showing Tomorrowand Next-days forecast would have been a far more sensible option. Plus you don't see what the selectedlocation is. Plus, why do I need 'Search places or the web' in a weather app? And why the inconsistentsearch field text?

First attempt above, outdoor shot with good lighting and lot of detail. Nokia left, One Zoom right.Nokia comes with the cooler (and expected) Nokia color tones. The camera also focused on the stickingout branch, whereas One Zoom selected a more center distance focal point, hence the branches in theback look sharper, and there's better foreground and shadow separation. I'm trying to sound smart inthis paragraph.

These devices became available in India recently and we found that HMD has also loaded them with new set of Ringtones, Notification sounds and alarm sounds. So, in case if you want to use these new sounds on your existing Nokia smartphones you can just download by following the links below.

After getting a brand new phone (Pixel 4a, with Android 10), incoming text messages / SMS no longer triggered an audible notification sound. Even after tweaking global notifications settings and setting ringer volume to maximum, no text messages could trigger an audio alert. There would be a visual notification shown, but no sound.

My tone has come and gone on both a OnePlus 5T and a Pixel 4, Android 9-11. One thing that often works for me for both phone ringer and messages is to reboot the phone. Today that did not work, and neither did digging in all those settings. But somehow as I just dug one more time, without changing a thing, it kicked back in. Who the whatever knows?

Fantastic advice. I did have sound notifications, albeit delayed, but once I set a different one for my AOL app, my SMS messages stopped having a sound. Unclear why that happened. I now get instant dots AND sounds. Thanks so much.

Unfortunately, on my Motorola G Plus Android 10, these suggestions do not seem to apply. I made the mistake of trying to adjust the settings on my two identical phones, and then noticed that I was still receiving notification sounds from Google Voice, Yahoo Mail, WhatsApp Messenger, and any other app EXCEPT Google Messages. So, I went back and tried to do as you did, re-setting every imaginable setting associated with notifications, sounds, messages, etc., and still could not get the phones to produce a sound (but only for Messages). So, it seems to be a bug, that when adjusting one of those preferences, it takes you to the point of no return, and even re-setting the prefs does not allow the sounds to come back.

The Nokia 3650 has a battery level indicator on its main screen with six sticks that disappear as the battery level decreases. With Mobile Accessibility active, when you press the pound key briefly, you hear the voice say, "Battery level," followed by "high," "medium," or "low." The 3650 also gives a unique tone every hour for the final three hours of use before the battery finally dies, to alert you that it is time to recharge.

Although Mobile Accessibility does not automatically indicate messages, this information can be accessed through the main Nokia 3650 operating system. It has a visual icon to indicate that a voice mail, text, or multimedia message has been received, and it will emit a short tone, along with a vibration, to indicate that a text or multimedia message has been received or that a message came in while you were on another call or while the phone was turned off. You can also use Mobile Accessibility's menu system to navigate to your text and multimedia mailboxes to check for messages. Creating and reading text and multimedia messages are also accessible with Mobile Accessibility.

The phone book, called "Contacts" on this phone, is accessed visually through the Nokia 3650's menu system and can be accessed with Mobile Accessibility. You can assign a shortcut or navigate through the menu system to the Contacts menu and perform most of the contact-management tasks that are available through the 3650 operating system. You can read your contact list; add, delete, or edit contacts; call contacts; and assign unique ring tones to your contacts. You can also record your own ring sounds and assign them to contacts, but you must assign speed-dialing and voice-activated dialing shortcuts for your contacts visually with the regular 3650 menus.

There is no specific power indicator on this phone. If you have sufficient vision, you can tell whether the phone is on simply by looking to see if the display is on. If you do not have sufficient vision, you can press any number key and listen for a tone, which indicates that the phone is on.

Both operating systems can access what are called "Profiles," which control whether you are to be alerted to an incoming call by tones, beeps, or vibrations. With the General Profile active, the phone will ring; with Meeting active, it will beep and vibrate; with Silent active, it will just vibrate; and with Outdoors active, it will ring louder. The Nokia 3650 has an on-screen icon to indicate which profile is active, but with Mobile Accessibility, you have to navigate to the Profiles menu and choose a profile to know for sure which one is active.

I had the same thing and found that when using an activity tracker synchronised via bluetooth, the notification sounds would be silenced. To check this try to change the noise associated to the notification and no sound will be heard. Switching off bluetooth brought back the sounds ! This was true for all notification sounds except Ringtone - which always worked.

I agree, when I first got my Fitbit all worked well. My phone would ding, the message would appear on my fitbit. Now notifications don't work on my phone and my fitbit doesn't display the texter or text information. My notifications are on, my alert noise is set, I have not hidden alerts for any of my contacts, my mute button is not engaged. As I play with these settings I will always get an alert for the first text, but none of the subsequent messages. Today I tried to disable blue tooth and I got the notification. Oddly enough after disabling bluetooth I also noticed Do not disturb was on, so I disabled that and re-enabled bluetooth. I got the notification, but the text alert was not sent to my fitbit like it used to. I will need to wait to see if I get alerts for any more texts or if it's still only working for the first text after a change.

I have added a new ringtone to the ringtones list in Settings->Sounds->Phone ringtone>Add ringtone. After that I can see the same ringtone file in Ringtones folder of Internal storage. I need to remove this ringtone? For that I have deleted that file from folder. But, the ringtone is still running there. How to remove it.

Instead, do a search for the ringtone or sound effect you added using the Files app (comes with Android), then erase it. It'll be removed from the ringtone selection menu without erasing all the other sound files.

Problem: "WhatsApp notification sound is not working on my iPhone. It is weird but I no longer get the notification sounds from WhatsApp. And the problem only happens to WhatsApp. Other apps like SMS messages still have notification tones. Try restarting the phone but still no luck. Any suggestion?"

Solution: The problem that WhatsApp notification sound is not working happens not only on iPhone but also on Android devices, like Samsung, OnePlus, LG. Some lost the notification tones after a WhatsApp or software update; others are having the problem because the custom notification tone doesn't work on their phones. Here we have 7 solutions to resolve WhatsApp notification sound not working on iPhone, Samsung, and more.

You could reinstall WhatsApp to fix the problems. But since reinstalling WhatsApp will delete all your chats, you should back up WhatsApp messages and photos on your phone before reinstalling. If you are using an iPhone and would like to back up WhatsApp messages and media files to a computer, you can use iOS Data Backup & Restore, which allows you to restore individual WhatsApp chats instead of the whole chat history.

The Nokia tune is a phrase from a composition for solo guitar, Gran Vals, composed in 1902 by the Spanish classical guitarist and composer Francisco Trrega.[1] It has been associated with Finnish corporation Nokia since the 1990s, becoming the first identifiable musical ringtone on a mobile phone; Nokia selected an excerpt to be used as its default ringtone.[2] 006ab0faaa
