1. Before anything else, an Introduction
This website is a personal archive maintained by Noelle Grace O. Pico (yes, that's me). This page outlines my commitment to transparency. As a marketing professional, data is my thing even when I’m eating breakfast. But since this is a personal site, I only process the minimal data required to keep it functional.
2. Why Bother Collecting Anonymous Data (Analytics and Cookies)
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors engage with my online home. I use Google's services because their tools help me improve the site's structure, and besides, I’m always curious about what content people enjoy. I grew up on the version of the internet that was pre-Tumblr and social media as we know them now. If people really liked something, they struck up a conversation—and then we’d end up talking or discussing shit for days. I miss that; but I know that things are different now.
What’s Collected (in a nutshell)? Google Analytics places anonymous cookies on your device. They're not the kind you can eat, sadly. And I kind of want to talk to the person who named them cookies just to learn if they were the one who also named text paths “breadcrumbs”. Anyway, this data tells me things like: which page you visited, how long you stayed, and your general location on a world map—no, I won't know exactly where you live, and I don't want to. That's private information that I shouldn't be privy to because, idk, that's weird to me.
What's It For? I’m a nerd who likes data because it helps me understand behavior. The anonymous data collected is solely for site analysis—to ensure that The Hopeful Pixel is working correctly. Basically, I'm an anxious writer who just wants to know who is basically reading what I write and maybe, how you got here.
3. Your Rights and Control in compliance with the Philippine Digital Privacy Act (DPA)
Your privacy is important to me. Even if this wasn't required by the Philippine Data Privacy Act—which is one of the many policies in line with GDPR and similar laws determined by where you live—you deserve to have control over your information. Here's how it works:
Consent: By continuing to use, view and explore this website, you are consenting to the use of these necessary, anonymous cookies for site maintenance.
Opt-Out: You can easily stop all cookie collection by disabling cookies in your web browser settings.
You Can Ask Questions: For any questions about this notice or your data, please use the contact information provided below. If I don't reply right away, I’m not ghosting you. I probably just haven't opened my email because I’m catching up on sleep.

Fair warning in advance: I will nerd out about this stuff with the same enthusiasm as I do my passions and hobbies.
