A schedule will be drafted after the community engagement meetings and a scope of work can be assessed.
The Nodaway Valley school board and superintendent have been talking with fiscal agents about options for financing the project. At this point, the scope and budget for the project has not yet been determined. Many options will be considered and when a solution is identified, the team will share the tax impact with the Nodaway Valley community.
Potential sources of funding include the SAVE program, also known as the statewide penny sales tax; PPEL funds, which come from board-approved and voter-approved Physical Plant and Equipment Levies; and a General Obligation bond issue, which must be approved by voters.
The meetings will be recorded and can be viewed under the Community Meetings tab. This website serves as the official resource for information related to the facilities assessment process and it will be updated as new information becomes available.
Definitely! The Boyd Jones-Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture team has partnered with nearby school districts in Red Oak, Sidney, and East Mills, as well as with multiple Nebraska public schools. The team has a wealth of collective experience to share with the Nodaway Valley Community School District that comes from lessons learned on similar PreK-12 school projects for districts facing similar challenges.
Recent enrollment trends are studied often and can be used to make projections into the future, but there is an assumed risk of inaccuracy, or a margin of error. Enrollment trends can slow or change within a 10-year period, and unknown factors within the district and across the region can influence these changes.
