Nobochetona Action for Change Foundation is a non-profit, voluntary development organization dedicated to supporting sustainable development, environmental conservation, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, and livelihood improvement in Bangladesh. The organization believes that meaningful national development can only be achieved through active citizen participation and collaborative efforts between government institutions, civil society, and local communities.
Bangladesh, as a developing nation, faces significant challenges from climate change, environmental degradation, and recurrent natural disasters. These challenges continue to affect the country's people, natural resources, and development progress. Recognizing these realities, Nobochetona Action for Change Foundation is committed to supporting the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in achieving sustainable development goals through community-based development initiatives and humanitarian action.
The foundation traces its origins to 2010, when its founder, , initiated voluntary activities in the districts of Dhaka and Jessore. During its early years, the organization focused on researching, preserving, and promoting the rich folk culture and heritage of Bangladesh.
As climate change and environmental challenges intensified across the country, the organization expanded its mission.
In 2017, Tushar Chakraborty and his wife, Joya Clara Sarkar, launched community-based tree plantation initiatives across various upazilas of Jessore District, funded through personal donations.
Alongside environmental conservation efforts, the organization also strengthened its humanitarian activities by promoting voluntary blood donation, food aid, child activity services for under privileged communities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the founders utilized their personal savings to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to vulnerable households in Jessore Sadar and Jhikargachha Upazilas. Their interventions included food support, family vegetable gardening initiatives, and basic healthcare assistance for families severely affected by the crisis.
Today, the organization works across multiple sectors, including environmental protection, climate change adaptation, disaster risk management, sustainable livelihoods, community development, and social welfare. Through its integrated development approach, Nobochetona aims to build resilient communities capable of overcoming environmental and socio-economic challenges.
In 2026, to strengthen its institutional capacity and expand its development impact, Nobochetona Action for Change Foundation was formally registered with the Department of Social Welfare and recognized as a Foundation by the Government of Bangladesh.
