Access to food starts with the right tools.
The No Can Left Behind Project works to improve food accessibility by collecting and distributing manual can openers alongside canned goods. Our goal is simple: to make sure donated food is not only available, but usable.
Millions of canned food items are donated each year, but many individuals and families do not have access to a can opener. Without the right tool, canned food cannot fully serve its purpose.
A manual can opener may seem small, but it can make a meaningful difference for someone experiencing food insecurity.
The No Can Left Behind Project was created from personal experience and a deep understanding of the challenges people face when asking for food assistance.
As someone who has relied on church and community food pantries, I understand that asking for help can feel uncomfortable. But there is no shame in needing support. Food pantries exist to help individuals and families through difficult seasons.
Through both personal experience and volunteering, I saw a simple yet often overlooked need: people may receive canned goods but lack the tools to open them. That reality inspired the creation of The No Can Left Behind Project.
We collect and distribute:
Manual can openers
Canned goods
Community support resources, when available
Access to food starts with the right tools.
