Description: Changes to the new construction of a two-story addition to a Non-Contributing rated, two-story, single-family residential building.

Previous ARC & Commission Actions:

10/04/23: The Commission voted to grant conceptual approval with the details to be worked out at the Staff level.  

09/19/23: The ARC recommended conceptual approval with the details to be worked out at the staff level.  The ARC stated that the front porch should have a 5’-0” depth and that the stairs should be moved to the right side of the porch to allow breathing room between the fence and steps. The transoms above the doors should be a minimum of 12” in height and crawl space vents should be added to the front porch.

11/13/19: The Commission voted to grant conceptual approval with the details to be worked out at the Staff level.  

10/15/19: The ARC recommends conceptual approval with the details to be worked out at the Staff level.  The ARC agreed that the project as whole was much improved and fit better in the context. There are some minor details to be worked out that include:

• The location of the steps at Building 1, should be relocated to the right side and the porch should be wider by 1’-0”. The pedestrian gate should relate to the new entry location.

• The brick return on the corners of Building 2 should be wider to capture the downspout or the edge of the opening at the ground floor.

• The entablature should chamfer at the ends.

• The recessed entry at Building 1 should be framed to mimic the look of a cased opening.
