SATURDAY 22nd AUGUST - Pétanque Picnic in Eaton Park - from 11:30am
This is an opportunity to relax, chat and get to know each other as well as play.
For the less active among us, please come even if you just want to sit and enjoy the company.
The terrain is located behind the café in the centre of the park.
Please bring any chairs, mats, rugs etc you need for yourselves and a picnic. Note that the excellent café will be open for food and drink if you prefer. Bring boules if you have them, or there will be plenty to share.
We look forward to seeing you - bring your friends and family!
THURSDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER - Pétanque at the Cottage, Thorpe St Andrew, 148 Thunder Lane, NR7 0JD - 11:00am
There is plenty of parking, and the No.24 bus stops right outside.
An opportunity to socialise and enjoy a Pétanque session.
Following last year’s successful and enjoyable experience we have again arranged a boules session for us and other twinning groups at The Cottage terrain.
Beginners or more experienced, all are welcome and volunteer members of the Club will be on hand to help and give tips. Thank you to Lesley Munday for arranging this.
There is no fee, just turn up - any donations for the Pétanque club would be welcome.
There is enough pétanque space for several teams playing. No equipment is needed but if you own a set of boules, why not bring them. Recommendation – covered footwear (not sandals, danger to toes)
Why not stay on for a lunch in the pub – The Cottage. Their website shows their menu.
FRIDAY 18th SEPTEMBER - Verena will be organising another walk. Details will follow.
For the millennium of William the Conqueror's birth, major celebrations are being planned in Normandy, the UK, and indeed across Europe, wherever the Normans were influential – a surprisingly high number of countries!
Our 2027 page will keep track of all the events planned.
