We invite you to discover the heart of Milano through a two-part tour.
First we will be guided on a tour inside Castello Sforzesco, Milano's historic castle built during the Renaissance by the Sforza family, rulers of the city. This special tour reaches up to the the embattled walkways of the castle's defense line. On a good day, the sight on the city from this position is really unique.
After getting back on the ground, we will have a walk in the area and see some of the most famous buildings and places in downtown Milano: piazza del Duomo, piazza dei Mercanti, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and piazza della Scala, whose artistic and historical values will be described by our guides.
The total time of the tour is about 3 hours. It is not a physically demanding experience, but a pair of comfortable shoes and maybe a bottle of water are recommended.
Meeting point: We will gather just outside the Info Point in the main courtyard of Castello Sforzesco (piazza Castello, 20121 Milano) at 15:30-15:40 max. The M1 subway (red line) has a stop named "Cairoli" just in front of the castle. To get there directly from the conference venue, Giancarlo and/or Massimiliano will depart from the gate in Via Celoria 18 at 15:00.
After the excursion, we invite you to the social dinner at "Un Posto A Milano", a restaurant inside Cascina Cuccagna, a typical "cascina milanese". A "cascina" is a farm: In centuries of urban expansion, several farms once lying in the countryside were slowly incorporated within the city's core. You get the best of both worlds, being downtown but enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of a farm's courtyard.
Meeting point: The dinner is set for 8 PM at the restaurant address, Via privata Cuccagna 2, 20135 Milano. The M3 subway (yellow line) stops "Porta Romana" or "Lodi TIBB" are close to the restaurant. At the end of the excursion, we will get there directly from Duomo square.
