What is in ACADEMIC TRACK ?
The Academic Track in the Strengthened SHS Curriculum is a flexible learning path designed for students who plan to go to college or university, but it also prepares them for employment, entrepreneurship, or further skills training.

Instead of being divided into strands (like STEM, ABM, HUMSS, GAS), the new Academic Track is unified. Students build their learning journey by choosing from different elective clusters based on their goals.

 5 Core Subjects (Grades 11–12)

These are required for all SHS students:

1. Effective Communication

2. Life and Career Skills

3. General Mathematics

4. General Science

5. Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino
   
   

→ These cover essential skills in communication, thinking, math, science, values, and Filipino identity.

16 Elective Subjects (Grades 11–12)

Instead of fixed strands, students now choose 16 elective subjects from 9 Thematic Clusters, based on their personal goals and interests.

• STEM: Includes electives like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering Math. These subjects are ideal for students aiming for careers in science, medicine, or engineering.

• Business & Entrepreneurship: Offers Accounting, Marketing, Business Management, and E-commerce. Perfect for those interested in business, finance, or starting their own enterprise.

• Social Sciences & Humanities: Includes subjects like Psychology, Philosophy, Filipino Literature, and Political Science. Best suited for future educators, lawyers, writers, or social workers.

• Arts & Design: Electives such as Creative Writing, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts. Designed for students with talents in music, dance, theater, or visual arts.

• Information & Communications Technology (ICT): Offers Computer Programming, Multimedia Arts, and Web Design. Good for tech-savvy learners aiming for IT-related careers.

• Health & Wellness: Includes Personal Fitness, Sports Science, and Health Education. Great for students interested in sports, physical therapy, or health science.

• Agriculture & Family Life: Offers Crop Production, Food Processing, and Home Economics. Focuses on practical life skills and sustainable living.

• Industrial Arts: Covers Automotive Servicing, Carpentry, and Electronics. Ideal for learners who want to gain hands-on technical skills.

• Field Experience: Involves Internship, Research, Community Projects, and a Capstone Project. These are required in Grade 12 and help apply what students learned in real-world settings.

Capstone Project + Field Experience (Grade 12)

Students complete:

• A Capstone Project: an individual or group output showing what they learned

• A Field Experience: real-world application (e.g., immersion, job shadowing, community work)
