The NMS chorus is made up of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Any student in any grade can join chorus! We prepare three concerts each school year: fall, winter/holiday, and spring. These concerts are a chance for us to showcase our talents and perform for our family, friends, and NMS teachers! In addition to being in chorus class, you can also be in one of the after school ensembles. Men's Chorus and Advanced Women's Chorus meet weekly and prepare one song for each concert.
There are lots of fun things you get to do when you are an NMS chorus member. We take several field trips throughout the year, including District Honor Choir, 6th Grade Statewide Honor Choir, #realmensing, Choral Extravaganza, and much more!
You get the opportunity to learn about all types of music and sing songs from all over the world.
You make lots of new friends who will be there for you when you need them!
SINGING IS FUN!!
YES!!! If you enjoy music and singing please join! You will learn so much just by singing in a group. One year in chorus can improve singing skills greatly!
Yes! Many students in chorus are also involved in band, FFA, FCCLA, sports, and other clubs on campus. We will work together to make sure you can be involved in what interests you!

I like chorus because I have made a lot of great friends there.
The NMS chorus is directed by MaryKate King. She has been teaching for three years and loves music. Her favorite type of music is Musical Theatre because she likes to sing along in her car and pretend she is in the musical. In her free time she likes to watch Netflix at home with her cat, Willow.
