Transportation Problem

Objective

My dear students, the objective of this content is to study about one of the application of Operation Research i.e. Transportation Problem. The problem was formalized by the French mathematician Gaspard Monge in 1781. Major advances were made in the field during World War II by the Soviet mathematician and economist Leonid Kantorovich.  

It is a special case of linear programming problem. It is the problem of transporting or shipping the commodities or items from the industry (sources) to the destinations with least possible cost, while satisfying the supply and demand limits.   

This content will discuss about Transportation Problems and how to solve them.  Whole course material is divided into following steps:
