Four Seasons
The south side of the block, which is now Four Seasons Fashions and More, was first occupied by Donald McLeod’s dry goods store. He eventually sold his store to White and May Co. of St. Mary’s, and Michael Hasset managed the store. Hasset purchased the store in 1932, and the store became known as “Hasset’s”
When Hasset died, the Scanlan family bought the store but kept the Hasset name. In 1960, the store was bought by Nathan Silver of Toronto. Silver only operated the store for two years, when the store was bought back by the Scanlan’s.
In 1969, the store was sold to Gerald Charlton. The Charlton’s ran the store for 10 years, but was then sold to Dr. Rick Merritt in 1979. The store closed in 1990, and sat vacant for many years. The store was rented out a few times by various shopkeepers.
Diane Cadman purchased the store in 2017, and opened her own business under the "Four Seasons" name.
