Parkhill Train Station
The Grand Trunk Railway was a railway system that connected the Canadian Provinces of Ontario and Quebec as well as the American states of Connecticut, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Parkhill was chosen as one of the stops that would connect Sarnia to St. Mary's, and tracks were laid around 1859. The first name for the railway station was Westwood, but was soon after changed to Parkhill in 1860 when the town was officially incorporated.
The train station in Parkhill was initially located on the Northeast corner of King Street and West Park Drive, but burnt down shortly after being built. The station remained on the North side of King Street but was moved near the corner of Albert and King Street. The train station was torn down in 1969 and the tracks were torn up in 1990.
