Site is across the street, currently the Ailsa Craig United Church.
Before the fire of 1923, this site was home to Ball's house, Cobbledick's store, Middaugh's store, Montgomery Boot and Shoe, the telephone office, and the Meadow's store.
In 1925, the United Church of Canada was created with the amalgamation of Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational sects. Materials from the Methodist Church on George St were used to build the sanctuary, and the current church was completed in 1929.
