Initially this property was the location of the Western Hotel, owned by Christopher Cuisick. Little else is known about this business.
In about 1947, Roland Neil bought the land and erected his garage in 1949.
For a short time later, Ken McKichan had a garage in the back of the building, before Hans Nibourg took it over for a repair shop, naming it The Ailsa Craig Repair.
In 1989, Sandy MacKenzie opened Sandy's Video, where people could play the machines, rent videos or try the pool table. She also sold pizza and subs for a time.
Today, the building sits empty.

At Roland Neil's Garage, he sold Shell gasoline, Hornet Chain Saws, Shelvador refrigerators, and Moffat electric and gas stoves, as well as doing welding and repair work for cars, trucks, and tractors.
