some ghosts linger

because we keep feeding them

vultures pecking flesh remains

from calcified bones

as residual gases release

the surviving spoken sounds

are ones

the dead secrete in speeches

yet

the living speak in secret

How I Love You

I hope to show you that softness is not something you need to run from or change.
I hope I can hold the depths of your oceans and show you that you are never too much. And even when I cannot hold it all, because of my own depths or constrictions, that I hope you will learn that is about me and not about you.
You are absolutely enough and I love every facet of who you are. And who you will become. I hope to never consider you finished and that I keep meeting every piece of who you are and who you are deciding to become.
I hope to never filter you through who I am and who I have been. To remember that you are fully yours and I would never ask you to be anything less than the entire universe you are and are creating.
I hope I can show you how deeply I love you. And how much I would have loved you even if we didn’t share the same genes. I like you and I love you and I love doing life with you.
