Nicolas Marquez Peraca received his B.Sc. degree in Physics from the University of the Republic in Montevideo, Uruguay in 2016. Before joining Rice University, he was a Guest Researcher for two years at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD, where he worked on the electric and opto-electronic characterization of multijunction solar cells under the direction of Dr. Behrang H. Hamadani and Dr. William M. Healy. His current research interests include ultrafast phenomena in condensed matter physics, photonics of low-dimensional materials, and quantum information. In his free time Nicolas enjoys running, hiking, and climbing outdoors.
