First Peoples@Seneca - Seneca, Toronto, Canada (senecacollege.ca)
The following is the Land Acknowledgement for Seneca campuses of Newnham, Seneca@York, Markham, Peterborough and King, including the Williams Treaty.
Seneca would like to acknowledge the land on which its buildings are housed, and where students, faculty, support staff and members of the public gather. This land is the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We are guests on this space, and it is our shared obligation to respect, honour and sustain the land.
SeneCan Connect recommends the following website: Native Land Map Digital
According to Native-Land.ca they have created: "a map that honors of all the Indigenous Nations [of colonial states]. It seeks to encourage people — Native and non-Native — to remember that these were once a vast land of autonomous Native peoples, who called the land by many different names according to their languages and geography. The hope is that it instills pride in the descendants of these People, brings an awareness of Indigenous history and remembers the Nations that fought and continue to fight valiantly to preserve their way of life."
This program handbook provides an overview of the program as well as student & faculty responsibilities, program contacts, international services, board registry and more. It is your guide for supports and guidelines regarding the program.
