Nkululeko Fuyane

I am a proud Zimbabwean who holds the following academic qualifications - a Doctor of Commerce in Business Management, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, Diploma in Public Relations, Certificated in Digital Marketing and various teaching-related professional development certificates. I have over fifteen years of experience in marketing/business management and eight years in academia. From my academic qualifications and years of experience, one can see that I am a lifelong learner, always in search of knowledge.

In search of knowledge, I am driven mainly by the interpretivist perspective leaning toward connectivism. However, now and again, I find myself being an objectivist based on the context. For some time, I thought I was a marketer through and through, but after joining academia, I realised that I am also a teacher, a modern one for that matter. The intersection of these career paths allowed me to draw from the marketing discipline to my teaching practice and how technology is integrated to enhance deliverables. My decision to strengthen my e-pedagogical skill was also inspired by Mishra and Koehler's (2006) TPACK model, which seeks to model academics with technological, pedagogical and content knowledge. My e-pedagogical skill came in handy for me when the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted our lives, forcing academia to be done remotely using educational technology. As a pragmatist, I stay open-minded, and all my decisions are context-bound.
