• Any student who has graduated from Neah-Kah-Nie High School since 1954, except for the current graduating class, is eligible to apply.  Applicants attending or planning to attend technical, vocational or college programs will be considered.

• Neah-Kah-Nie District #56 Graduate Scholarships, Inc. shall be non-commercial, nonsectarian and nonpartisan; and shall not discriminate against any person because of sex, race, age, religion, sexual orientation, or economic status.

• Scholarship applications instructions may be obtained at the Neah-Kah-Nie High School office and Guidance Counselor at 503-355-2272, on sites.google.com/view/nkngraduatescholarships/home, by calling Nola Smith at 503-368-7132 or email nkngraduatescholarship@gmail.com.

• Completed scholarship application must be received at the PO Box listed below or submitted online no later than 5:00 pm, April 1st.  Any application arriving after 5:00 pm, April 1st will not be accepted, regardless of postmark.

• You will be notified by the 15th of May if you have been awarded a scholarship and will be asked to provide information concerning the college you will be attending.  Money awarded may be used for tuition and/or books.

All of the following information must be included in your application to be complete.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

5.   High School transcript available by calling 503-355-2272 or writing Neah-Kah-Nie High School at 24705 Hwy. 101 N, Rockaway Beach, OR 97136

6.   Transcripts of any post High School education

7.   300-500 word statement telling why you are applying for the scholarship.  Include the following:

a.     The year of your graduation

b.     What you have been doing since graduation

c.     Where you plan to further your education

d.     Short- and long-term goals

 8.   Two letters of recommendation.  These MUST BE CURRENT letters from people who are well acquainted with you, but who are not relatives.   Do not use letters from previous years or letters that are undated.

9.  Applications lacking any of the above requirements will not be considered.
